Affiliate Marketing Tips - How To Get Initial Advertisers to Your Website

If you are creating a new website or if you already have one, you know that it is important that you get traffic to your site. It's also important that you also get some advertisers on your site as well. If you are spending a lot of money to keep your site running then getting advertisers is a lot more important than if your site isn't costing you much money to keep up and running. Your website also can be a commodity that a company is looking for. Companies more and more are turning to the Internet to get their products and services noticed by potential clients and customers. So, why not get your site out there and noticed by companies so you can help them while at the same time you are making a little bit of profit off of it all.

You need to market your site. Before you can get people to notice you you need to make them aware that you exist. No company is going to want to advertise with your site if no one knows that your website even exists. So you will need to figure out a way to promote your site so that it starts to develop it's own audience. You do this by word of mouth, emails and placing your site on a variety of different search engines and directories. Once you have done this, companies are going to be more willing to advertise with you.

Once you have started marketing your website you should then consider joining an affiliate program. This probably the easiest way to get advertisers interested in your website and at the same time you are going to be making some money. Affiliate programs let you get paid for referring customers to another site that offers their products and or services. These kinds of programs are especially good for smaller websites and blogs. After you have placed their ads on your site it is going to eventually attract other advertisers because they will see that you have no problems with putting ads on your website.

You can also consider offering special space on your website as advertising space. This can be ads with banners on your website or it can be text ads that people can click on to go to another website where they can purchase a product or service. You can place a banner on your page that actually says “Advertise Here”. You should only put one small banner on each of your sites pages. You don't want to overdo it. Also, make sure that you know how much you are going to charge. It should depend upon how much space they want and how long they will want to run their ad. Make sure to contact other webmasters to see what they charge for their advertising space. However, make sure not to let them know that you are another webmaster looking at the competition. Doubt if they'd be willing to help.

You also may want to get in touch with companies by emailing them and see if they would be interesting in advertising on your website, especially if your site is new. If there isn't much response to it, at least you are getting your webpage's name out there an perhaps in the future when your site has been around longer you'll peak the interest of those same companies. When you do contact companies through email, make sure that you include a link to the main page of your website so they can easily check out your site and see if it's something they might be interested in.
